Eastwood firefighters attended a fire near Brinsley following a call just before 10pm on Wednesday the 7th of September.
The fire started in the conservatory of the property and rapidly spread round the house. After the fire investigation the fire was deemed to be caused via an electrical fault. The cause of the fire was a term used in the fire industry called “daisy chaining”. This term refers to the dangerous practice of plugging in and connecting multiple extension leads and multi-way adaptors into a mains power socket. This creates a serious fire hazard.
The increased electrical demand on your home’s system can harm the electrical wiring and power sockets by the overload and the overheating of the components, which often causes fires.
We urge people to check out for any damages in their electrics and always get devices pat tested after their previous tests expiry date is passed.
