Coventry burger shop shut after fire broke out in electrical box

The popular burger shop ‘Brgr Lab’ has been forced to close temporarily after a fire tore through the ground floor of the building. Brgr Lab will remain shut until ‘further notice.’

Firefighters were called out to reports of a Fire on Monday, October 31st. Two fire engines from Coventry Fire Station responded and came to the burger shop on Stoney Stanton Road. Crews tackled the blaze which had torn through the electrical box. Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.

Electricians were seen at the burger shop on Tuesday, November 8th. It is hoped the electricity will be fixed in the coming weeks.

A spokesman from West Midlands Fire Service said: “At 8:30pm on Monday (October 31) we responded to a fire involving an electrical box on the ground floor of a burger shop on Stoney Stanton Road, Coventry. Two fire engines attended from Coventry Fire Station and arrived at the scene three minutes after being mobilised. Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.”
