Local residents and tradesmen are said to have helped staff relaunch Connolly’s Tapas Bar near Coventry.
A family-run restaurant and bar has reopened as of December 14th. Just over a month ago, it was badly damaged by an electrical fire. It’s said to be thanks to the community spirit of residents that Connolly’s Tapas Bar in the Tiddington area is available so soon after a fire tragically tore through it.
As many as 30 firefighters were called when an electrical fire broke out in the basement of the building. At its height, thick plumes of smoke could be seen pouring from the property.
The blaze caused extensive smoke logging to much of the building. However, the local residents and tradesmen have been credited with refurbishing the damaged property in no time.
In response to a Facebook post announcing the family-run restaurant’s reopening, a resident praised the community for helping the business get back on its feet.
“The way a small community has united to transform this family restaurant (literally) from the ashes to ‘as new’ in just over 30 days is a remarkable tale,” they said. “And we didn’t need Nick Knowles when have our own Scott Deacon. I urge those in the area who haven’t been before to head down to Tiddington.”
All pictures chronicling the progress of the makeover were posted on the Connolly’s Facebook page.
