A family lost everything in a house fire

A family lost everything in a house fire started by an e-bike

A family lost everything after a fire ripped through their home in Doncaster destroying everything in its path. Now friends are rallying around to raise money to try and replace some of their lost items.

The blaze broke out on July 9 at an address on Ansdell Road in Bentley.

The property is the home of Simon Blanchard, aged 40, his partner Laura Natale, aged 24, and four children – Katelyn, aged 16, Ivy Rose, aged 4, Joseph, aged 1, and 3-week-old Georgia.

Thankfully the family were out at the time as little Georgia had to be taken to hospital poorly.

Family member Leah Turton told the Free Press: “They received a phone call saying the house was on fire.

“When they arrived home they were only left with some clothes, everything had been destroying the fire, which appears to have been started by an electric bike.”

“Anyone that could help would be greatly appreciated so they can start rebuilding their life after this devastating incident.”

Laura’s brother Enrico Natale has set up a fundraiser and added: “On the 9th of July they lost their home and everything they own to a house fire leaving them with 3-4 drawers of clothes.”

“I’m hoping this fundraiser will help get them back on their feet to find a new home and replace the cots, pushchairs, furniture etc, any help is greatly appreciated. I wish I could do more to help them.”

So far £703 has been raised from a £3,000 goal, if you could help please visit their GoFundMe HERE.

Any help for them would go a very long way in helping this family get back on their feet.
