Arriva bosses have said no one was injured in the serious bus blaze that hit services in Nuneaton and Coventry. The fire broke out on a bus on Hinckley Road in Barwell.
It led to part of the road being closed off and the impact of this led to delays to Stagecoach services over the A5 in Nuneaton and Coventry on Tuesday afternoon (July 30th). In a statement issued to CoventryLive, Arriva said that fortunately the bus was out of service, so had no passengers on it, and there were no reported injuries.
Firefighters battled the flames and the road was closed for several hours so that the charred remains of the vehicle could be removed. The bus firm said that investigations into the cause of the fire are now underway.
The full statement reads: “We can confirm that a fire occurred on Tuesday 30th July at approximately 11:55 am on Hinckley Road. Emergency services were promptly alerted, and they responded quickly to the scene.
