Beloved shopping village in Stoke confirmed to not reopen after devastating fire

Slater’s Shopping Village will not be rebuilt after a devastating fire ripped through the complex. The shopping village was home to a number of businesses that were beloved by the locals.

The complex remained closed ever since last November’s fire and some of the affected businesses have since relocated elsewhere. A new email has been released to still occupants saying that the complex will not remain open and stores have until October 20 to empty their units.

It is understood that any rebuild attempt would have taken at least 18 months to complete. Demolition of the fire-struck building is expected to start within the coming weeks.
