A couple sadly died in a huge house fire along with their pet dog as police confirmed that the fire was a tragic accident. Flames engulfed their two-storey house near Nottingham, in the early hours of March 26. Neighbours raised the alarm when they were awakened by the loud bangs from the burning building. Firefighters battled for almost two hours to extinguish the huge inferno. Sadly nothing could be done in trying to save the couple who were out drinking on the night of the fire.
Fire fighters reports stated that the fire had started electrically after they had likely started cooking something before passing out asleep in the bed. Officials were quoted as saying how “frighteningly quick” the fire spread and tore through the building.
