Electrical fire causes ‘devastating’ damage to home outside Manchester

Photos have shown the devastating damage to an Orford house in which a fire broke out on Sunday morning.

Four fire engines from Warrington, Birchwood, Lymm and Penketh fire stations attended the scene on Orford Green at 11:12am.

According to the report from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service, firefighters were ‘rapidly deployed’ with a hose reel jet into the house.

The fire was found to have originated on the first floor in a bedroom.

The flames were extinguished by crews wearing breathing apparatus, while a high-pressure fan was put into use to clear the heavy smoke in the building.

The fire investigation later found that the fire began accidentally, caused by an electrical issue with a bedside light.

No one was injured in the fire.
