An electrical fire at home sparked major alert in the north Birmingham suburb yesterday morning (January 22nd). Two fire engines from Aston and Sutton Coldfield sealed off the areas in Templeton Road.
Firefighters were responding to an emergency call over a fire in the house on the border with Great Barr at 8:32am. They quickly made the home near Kingstanding Circle safe and discovered that flames had been based around the electrical fuse board.
National Grid was called out to the scene, which was not believed to have involved any casualties.
Residents woke up yesterday morning to find the narrow road filled with emergency vehicles.
A West Midlands Fire Service spokesperson said: “Two fire crews were sent to a house fire on Templeton Road, Kingstanding, after a call came in at 8:32am.”
“There was an electrical fire at the property. It affected the electrical fuse board.”
Firefighters remained at the scene until a representative from the National Grid could arrive.”
