Tenby Street North, Birmingham, UK
Shortly after 4:55 am on Tuesday (26 March), West Midlands Fire Service responded to Tenby Street North in the Ladywood area of Birmingham.
Initially, seven fire engines, crewed by 32 firefighters from Birmingham stations responded. The first arrived at the scene within three minutes of being mobilised.
This was a fire in a terraced factory unit, affecting an office and roof space. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire, which was confirmed to be out at 6:30 am.
Firefighters were supported by drone operations and a hydraulic aerial platform.
A full search of neighbouring properties was carried out, but no further signs of fire were identified. Tenby Street North was closed whilst West Midlands Fire Service worked at the scene.
West Midlands Fire Service’s Fire Investigators believe this fire started accidentally, due to an electrical fault.
West Midlands Fire Service left the scene at 9:53 am.
