Hazard
The adapter presents a risk of electric shock as it has been identified that it does not comply with the certification standard required in the UK and is an unsafe means of connection to the United Kingdom public electricity supply. The plug did not meet the dimensional requirements of BS 1363 and was not fitted with a fuse link as required by BS 1362. It was also possible to access live parts.
Should a consumer use the adapter to connect a non-UK plug they may receive an electric shock.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs and Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994.
Corrective action
The product has been recalled from end users.
Affected users have been contacted directly by Fiido who have supplied replacement UK chargers. Consumers should cease use of the adapter immediately.
