A white and black electric UV heater lamp that attracts and kills mosquitos.
The product presents a serious risk of electric shock as it is inadequately earthed. There is no earth connection and no means of anchoring its cord. Therefore, if a surge in current or a fault with the product were to occur, it could become live and give the user an electric shock on touch.
The instructions were inadequate as they did not contain sufficient information to ensure the correct and safe use of the equipment. Some of the required documentation and markings were not present.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs & Sockets (Safety) Regulations 1994.

interlocker and the cover to the device could be removed whilst in operation.

The product presents a high risk of electric shock because the insulation of the supply cord fitted was not suitable for the stated outdoor use. The insulation could therefore wear over prolonged exposure and possibly cause live parts to be accessible. The product was also missing the adequate instructions and safety information meaning there is a high chance the product will not be installed properly or safely. As well as this, the product was missing the required certification and trade markings.

The product is a domestic ModulAir heat pump system, installed in domestic settings.
The product has been identified as presenting a risk of fire as there are certain circumstances in which the internal electrical connection in the ModulAir All E Heat Pump can overheat, melt and breakdown. Despite the presence of a Residual Current Breaker with Over-Current (RCBO), it is possible that the electrical connectors may continue to overheat, resulting in the generation of smoke and fumes. It may present a risk of burns or fire if contact is made with flammable materials inside or close to the unit. The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.
