The product presents a high risk of electric shock as there is inadequate protection from access to live parts. During testing, it was identified that the lamps could easily be opened. If the user were to insert the bulb into a light socket, and the cover came away from the base, the consumer could receive an electric shock from live parts when attempting to replace the cover. The product presents a serious risk of injuries as it is possible to reach moving parts of the machine which can cause injury. The Thera 650 Inox automatic meat packaging machine (serial number 3491) has a set of long cutting blades where access is restricted from below by the design of the machine, from above by an interlocked guard and from upstream by an interlocked guard. Access was possible from downstream via the opening in the adjoining fixed guard and interlocked guard above the blades. The opening is intended to
allow egress of the sealed and cut trays.

The live and neutral pins were found to be too close together, and too close to the periphery of the plug. As the plug does not make a proper connection with the
socket, it could overheat and cause a fire. The user could also receive an electric shock when inserting or removing the plug from the socket. Improvements are required to the product’s markings.
