Wall-mounted luminaire with an LED driver and instruction manual, supplied in brown cardboard packaging.

The product presents a high risk of electric shock as the earthing arrangements are insufficient, which can allow accessible metal parts of the product to become live. If the consumer were to touch accessible metal parts, they would receive an electric shock. The power supply cord was also inadequately fixed, meaning that it is possible for live wiring to detach. The product also required improvement to marking, labelling and documentation.

Details

Freestanding spas and jacuzzis. The model number and serial number are engraved into a silver plate in the equipment bay of the hot tub.

Minor cracks in the sensor thermistor chip may reduce electrical resistance in the thermistor, causing the temperature sensor to relay incorrect water temperatures (but not >46C°). This can cause the water to be hotter than the set temperature, presenting a risk of burns and injuries.

The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.

Details

A black rectangular shaped digital photo frame supplied with a remote and black power supply.

The product presents a high risk of electric shock as the transformer was of a poor build quality and the plug face did not meet the dimensional requirements of BS 1363, which can allow access to live parts when unplugging, or plugging in, the plug from the socket. The product also had insufficient creepage and clearance distances, presenting risks of electric shock and fire.

The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs & Sockets (Safety) Regulations 1994.

BS28200. Please check if your product is affected by noting the model number and serial number. The rating plate is located on the plate inside the right-hand side wall of the fridge. Refrigerators with serial numbers in the following ranges are affected: 72900000 to 95299999 and 00100000 to 04599999. No other Beefeater Fridges are affected.

Details

Double door refrigerator (beverage chiller) designed for outdoor use.

There is potential for condensation to penetrate the sealed electrical control board located on the rear of the refrigerator. Whilst small, there is a chance that the refrigerator could cause a fire, posing a risk of injury to a consumer and damage to the property.

The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.

Details

Products are supplied individually in cardboard boxes with polystyrene inner. Boxes are marked with a sticky label that has the model number on them and a battery warning label.

The batteries present a serious risk of electric shock as when tested, the plug face did not meet the dimensional requirements of BS 1363. The distances from the edge of the live and neutral pins to the edge of the plug face were less than the required 9.5mm and measured at 7.6mm, presenting an electric shock hazard to users. The fuse did not contain any ballast as is required by the standard and is considered counterfeit. The fuse presents potential hazards of electric shock/fire/explosion when used in a product.

The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.
