Police close section of the A6 after underground fire blurts out and damages the road
The police have had to close a major Derbyshire road after an underground cable fire broke out. The stretch of the A6 is said to be closed for the foreseeable future. The fire was reported when locals spotted smoke coming from the pavement. The fire was maintained after the electrics were isolated.
Trent Barton, the local bus company tweeted that they would stop their 6.1 bus that ran down that road until the road was reopened and in the meantime stop the route at Matlock bath. Trent Barton’s other bus the Transpeak would still run just diverting using a different route and therefore cutting out Rowsley, Northwood and Broadwalk.
