All staff and customers were evacuated from a McDonald’s restaurant after a blaze just outside the venue sent a large amount of black smoke pouring into the area. Dunwoody Way, just outside of Stoke had to be closed off as crews dealt with the incident.
The fire erupted from an electricity box just outside the building. The McDonald’s had to be quickly evacuated as smoke spread all around the restaurant. The neighbouring pub was also closed for the rest of the afternoon until 9pm that night. The McDonalds remained closed for the next couple of days.
The firefighters managed to tackle the fire with no major stress after the electrics were isolated by the company that ran the electrical box.
