Neighbours watched in disbelief as smoke poured out of the roof of the home in Leicester.
The blaze broke out just before 9:30am near the city centre. At one point bystanders were scared that the flames would spread to adjacent houses but luckily the fire brigade had just arrived in time. The first person to spot the fire came out to originally get her bins when she spotted the billowing smoke coming from her neighbours home.
The fire service confirmed that two fire pumps were used with the fire ladder to tackle the high the fire had achieved. The woman’s cat had to be rescued from the building, but everyone was ok and came away with no injuries. Officials stated that they believed it was of electrical nature but an investigation is taking place.
