The cause of a fire at a commercial building in a Lincolnshire town has been revealed. Four fire crews were called to the incident at Plevin, a wood pellet manufacturing plant on Tenens Way, Boston, during the early hours of Wednesday, May 15th.
Firefighters were at the scene throughout the day and did not leave until around 5pm. It has since been revealed that the cause of the fire was a result of some of the machinery on site overheating.
Crews from Boston, Donington, Kirton and Leverton were in attendance and managed to extinguish the fire. A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “This incident resulted in fire damage to electrical wiring within machinery and to a large quantity of sawdust.”
“Crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished it using two hose reel jets, thermal imaging cameras and a nine metre ladder. The fire was caused by overheating machinery.”
