A pet dog saved her family’s lives after alerting them to a fire that broke out in their home. ‘Quick thinking’ pooch Jessie alerted her sleeping owners to the smoke that was swiftly filling the house.
She quickly roused them into action – enabling them to escape the property unharmed. Crews from Wadebridge Community Fire Station and Delabole Community Fire Station in Cornwall were called to New Polzeath shortly after 6 am on Thursday, May 30. On arrival, they located an electric heater on fire within a cupboard.
The team said: “Thanks to Jessie’s quick thinking and protective instincts, the small fire was promptly dealt with and contained to the cupboard of origin before any significant damage was done.”
