A snapped wire on a pylon started fire which caused rows of trees fires and over 600 power outages across Barnsley
An electric wire snapped on a pylon in Barnsley which started a fire engulfing a row of conifer trees. This then caused hundreds of power outages from houses in the surrounding area. The electric wire snapped due to overheating in the wire.
The wire snapped due to what the professionals said was overheating of the wire that snapped. The day that the fire started on was showing temperatures pushing 40 degrees. Authorities came out and explained the importance of heat resistant cables and wiring being used, especially for anything exposed to the sun in these extremely high temperatures.
