Firefighters rescued three dogs, a cat, and a hamster from a house fire on a terraced street in Staffordshire. Crews were scrambled to Hollings Street, in Fenton, where a doorbell camera captured the moment thick plumes of smoke poured from the property.
Now Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed the pets were rescued from the property during what has been deemed an accidental blaze triggered by an ‘electrical fault‘. Footage from a neighbouring property has shown the moment firefighters arrived on the street yesterday afternoon where smoke can be seen pouring from the home before flames flicker from the house.
The fire service sent two engines to the scene of the Staffordshire house fire just after 1 pm on October 15th.
A spokesman said: “We have rescued three dogs, a cat, and a hamster following an accidental house fire in Stoke-on-Trent. Smoke and flames were seen coming from a house on Hollings Street. Breathing apparatus and hose reel jets were used to extinguish a fire on the ground floor by 1:23 pm.”
“We also checked for hotspots and made sure the electric and gas was isolated. No one was inside the building at the time. After an inspection, the cause was deemed accidental following an electrical fault.”
