Neighbours describe horrific moment. One person evacuated.
Firefighters were called to the blaze from the Carlton & Arnold fire stations respectively to the blaze in Rutland Road, Gedling, Nottingham on the evening of Tuesday December 28th.
A section of Rutland Road was cordoned off while crews tackled the fire from around 19:15. One person had to be evacuated from the building, however Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue confirmed nobody at the scene was harmed.
Two water tender ladders, a high pressure hose reel, tools & a thermal imaging camera to access the building and get the fire under control.
A neighbour, who asked not to be named, said to Nottinghamshire Live: “We went upstairs to see what was going on.
“It was a pretty violent, big fire. We just heard this ‘shooshing’ noise before it started.
“We went outside to make sure everybody was all right. The fire brigade were here really quickly and it was under control pretty quickly.”
The homeowner also confirmed to Nottinghamshire Live that the source of the fire was electrical, but declined to comment further.
